BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

I can’t seem to get my breath at the moment. The Baby Sleep System available from www.babysleepanswers.co.uk is selling fast and the Forum has never been as busy. I continue to be horrified by the lack of support that is being offered to families around the country.

I am exhibiting at a Baby Show for the first time on 30th September. In tandem with this I am launching a range of Baby Sleep baskets and have been spending a lot of time sourcing lovely products and rubber ducks! If anyone lives in Nottingham (see site for full details), pop down to see me. I would love to meet you in person.

I have just launched a new service offering one to one home visits and telephone consultations. The number of Baby Sleep Workshops that I am running has also increased lately because of the demand.

When I established Baby Sleep Answers a few years ago, I never thought it would grow into a support service that was this busy. I am happy and proud to be helping so many people.

Thinking of going to Murcia?

Hi to all, it seems ages since I got the chance to add to this Blog. First we were on holiday and what an experience that was. If anyone out there is considering visiting Polaris World in Murcia I would ask them to reconsider.

The Villas and the 5 Star hotel are absolutely lovely. However the same cannot be said for the surrounding locale. The resort is in the middle of an arid, not very picturesque landscape. There are no facilities that you can walk to with the exception of those on the resort. If like us, you like a drink with your evening meal the 10 minute drive to the nearest restaurant is not appealing. The view on the journey to the beach, yet another 10 minute drive away, again is not very picturesque due to the graffiti and prolific fly tipping.

The first three days were stressful because hub and I were desperately trying to get the Villa modemed up so I could monitor emails for Baby Sleep Answers. The books were being sent out by a friend, but I still needed to forward addresses. I had also promised to respond to the Forum http://babysleepanswers.co.uk/forum if I could find a way to do it. In desperation we had to blag our way into the 5 star hotel and use the on site business centre. Thankfully by Day 5 we got the Modem fitted, but it was cost prohibitive to administer the Forum and sort the delivery of the books so my poor customers had to manage.

By this point I was also starting to get a bit of cabin fever because of the amount of lying about I was doing and the lack of other options. On Day 6, 3 out of 9 of our party went down with a sickness. The following day a further 3 were stricken including myself and Carl who vomited with style on the golf course.

After another week of reading books (I read 5 thick ones, most I’ve done at one sitting since having children) we set off for home. We were all mightily relieved that it was all over. Overall scores are listed below:

Villa – 9 out of 10 – very nicely furnished and good swimming pool.
Resort – 7 out of 10 – restaurants were over priced and a lot of flies. Intercontinental hotel roof top terrace was nice though.
Allacazares (became better known as Alcatraz) – 4 out of 10 – did eventually find a couple of good restaurants but beach was manmade and sat on the Mar Menor (more like a dirty sea lake and no waves).
Jet2 – 0 out of 10. Not going with them again – 3 hours on the tarmac at Manchester Airport because of a faulty air conditioning unit and then we flew with it not working anyway! Feel sorry for the people on the return leg, because our flight ate all the sandwiches!

Next year we are off to Cyprus – walking distance to lovely restaurants, water sports and a great beach (with waves). All reviews welcome.
